With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hugo Campos in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eusébio Viana saved Estaleiro FC from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Ricardo Assis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eusébio Viana was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. Fernando Figueiredo made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Oliveira Barbosa sent off a good shot on target. 23 minutes into the match, Fontao FC's Hugo Campos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eusébio Viana narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 23 played minutes Estaleiro FC got a freekick which was hit by Júlio Garcia. Hugo Campos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eusébio Viana having to interfere. Eusébio Viana showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ricardo Assis in the 28th minute of the match. Fontao FC's Fernando Figueiredo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sérgio Queirós in the 31st minute of play. Estaleiro FC's Oliveira Barbosa got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Estaleiro FC's Eusébio Viana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ricardo Assis in the 34th minute of play. In the 39th minute Emílio Faro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernando Figueiredo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Emílio Faro came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Estaleiro FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emílio Faro couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Estaleiro FC booed when Fontao FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nuno Simões didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 48th minute, Oliveira Barbosa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Estaleiro FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Eusébio Viana took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ricardo Assis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 57th match minute, Estaleiro FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Albertino Paredes to maneuver through the defense. Eusébio Viana made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hugo Campos in the 58th minute. After a rather tough play, Fontao FC's Joel Gaspar got a free kick in the 61st minute. Oliveira Barbosa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fernando Figueiredo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 67th minute of play. 70 minutes into the game, Nuno Simões was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fontao FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Estaleiro FC the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Fontao FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 75th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Estaleiro FC a penalty, 77 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Augusto Rocha, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Fontao FC's Fernando Figueiredo. 2-0. Eusébio Viana was out of position in the 83 minute of play, and Joaquim Faria capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Joaquim Faria really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. Hugo Campos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Eusébio Viana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
