The supporters of Caselas booed when Fontao FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joaquim Faria didn't get a good kick on the ball. Xavier Branco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernando Figueiredo having to interfere. Duarte Aguiar was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 16 minutes into the match. The referee gave Caselas a penalty, 18 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Carlos Mota, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Fontao FC's Fernando Figueiredo. 0-1. In the 23rd minute André Gueifão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernando Figueiredo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 25 minutes into the match, Xavier Branco notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Fontao FC's Fernando Figueiredo. Fernando Figueiredo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernardo Oliveira in the 29th minute of play forced Fontao FC's goalkeeper Fernando Figueiredo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Hugo Campos came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the Fontao FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hugo Campos couldn't finish the play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hugo Campos made a kick off. 54 minutes had been played when some careless play by Caselas's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joel Gaspar was slow to take the kick. During this time Fontao FC's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Joel Gaspar almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Caselas's Catarino Fontes did a great save. In the 58th minute, Alexandre Cabral got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Bernardo Oliveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Caselas getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. André Gueifão hit a great ball. Bernardo Oliveira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. André Gueifão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernando Figueiredo having to interfere. Fernando Figueiredo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bernardo Oliveira in the 79th minute. Joaquim Faria recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hugo Campos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Fernando Figueiredo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bernardo Oliveira, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute.
