An unexpectedly hard shot by Ricardo Reis in the 5th minute of play forced Gagos's goalkeeper Carlos Soares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Murganheira FC's Ricardo Reis got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gagos's Alexandre Jesus got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Murganheira FC's António Baptista played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexandre Jesus in the 13th minute of play. Alexandre Jesus received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. António Baptista tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alexandre Jesus struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. António Baptista didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gagos. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomás Aguiar in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg António Baptista saved Murganheira FC from getting behind. If Tomás Aguiar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Murganheira FC booed when Gagos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Branco didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 32nd minute, Alexandre Jesus got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Carlos Soares was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ricardo Reis showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 37 minute of play. 41 minutes into the match, Murganheira FC's goal looked a bit too open when Tomás Aguiar came free, but António Baptista reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alexandre Jesus to strike the kick off in the second half. Murganheira FC's Afonso Branco got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 55th minute, Paulo Gonçalves ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Carlos Soares was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Paulo Gonçalves managed to get in a good position for a shot. Murganheira FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Paulo Gonçalves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlos Soares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ricardo Reis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Tomás Aguiar might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over António Baptista. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomás Aguiar ran back to his position shaking his head. Gaspar Santos was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 68 minutes into the match. After 68 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Murganheira FC! Despite close surveillance by the defense, Nuno Leite managed to send off a shot that put the ball into the goal to the left of a disappointed goalkeeper. 2-1 in the 70th minute. António Baptista showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexandre Jesus in the 73rd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Tomás Aguiar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gagos's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomás Aguiar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. António Baptista breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Murganheira FC getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. José Neves hit a great ball. Tomás Aguiar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. António Baptista tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. José Neves kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Tomás Aguiar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without António Baptista having to interfere. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Murganheira FC were victorious despite being under pressure from Gagos for much of the match.
