When Momprole's Fernando Barros, in the 12th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Momprole. Fernando Vieira made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Daniel Pinheiro sent off a good shot on target. 27 minutes into the game, Momprole's João Assunção nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Raul Almeida made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Fernando Barros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Raul Almeida tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

If Bernardo Sá had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 79 minutes into the game, Domingos Lisboa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Montengrao FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Momprole the free kick. Domingos Lisboa hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match.
