When Tomás Pinheiro fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Campino's protests and gave Tomás Pinheiro a yellow card for diving instead. In the 6th minute, Tomás Pinheiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 7 minutes into the match, Sabuzedo's Carlos Matos broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Sabuzedo's Gil Rocha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nuno Neto in the 10th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Nuno Neto kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Gil Rocha. That made the score 1-0 in the 15 minute of play. José Correia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Augusto Reis in the 29th minute of play forced SC Campino's goalkeeper Carlos Domingues to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rafael Borges received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Gil Rocha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as SC Campino's Nuno Neto slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Gil Rocha. That made the score 2-0 after 35 minutes of play. Sabuzedo's Gil Rocha proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Sabuzedo from getting a goal against them. The supporters of SC Campino booed when Sabuzedo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Viriato Amaro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Viriato Amaro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. José Correia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Domingues having to interfere. Carlos Domingues took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Correia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nuno Neto stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Sabuzedo's Augusto Reis got a free kick in the 52nd minute. After having played for 56 minutes, José Correia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sabuzedo's supporters crossed their fingers, but José Correia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nuno Neto struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Gil Rocha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Campino. Gil Rocha came out of the goal in the 75th minute to try and stop a shot by SC Campino's Nuno Neto. But to his dismay, Nuno Neto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Gil Rocha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nuno Neto in the 81st minute of play. Gil Rocha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nuno Neto in the 88th minute of the match. When Nuno Abreu fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sabuzedo's protests and gave Nuno Abreu a yellow card for diving instead. If Rafael Borges had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rafael Borges recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sabuzedo's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because SC Campino had won, even though Sabuzedo had held more of the ball.
