Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Cortinhola's Artur Barros started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Alexandre Santarém received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Jaime Campos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 7thth minute of the game Alexandre Santarém who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cortinhola's Jaime Campos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Carlos Carvalho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulo Assunção, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. After having played for 10 minutes, Miguel Aleixo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cortinhola's supporters crossed their fingers, but Miguel Aleixo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Artur Barros managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cortinhola's supporters rose to their feet, but Artur Barros was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlos Carvalho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 18 played minutes Cortinhola got a freekick which was hit by Fábio Rodrigues. When Artur Santarém came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the SC Soutaria fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Artur Santarém couldn't finish the play. After recieving a nice pass, SC Soutaria's Artur Santarém tried to score from far away in the 21st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The supporters of SC Soutaria booed when Cortinhola was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulo Assunção didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Cortinhola's zone, Eduardo Simões stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jaime Campos came out of the goal and Eduardo Simões tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Miguel Aleixo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 39th minute Alexandre Santarém shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jaime Campos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carlos Neves charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Carlos Neves the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If Miguel Aleixo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alexandre Santarém to make the kick off. Artur Barros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Carlos Carvalho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Artur Barros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Carvalho having to interfere. Artur Barros recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 73rdth minute of the game Artur Barros who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Soutaria's Carlos Carvalho was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Artur Barros's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Carlos Carvalho read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. Amadeu Branco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Eduardo Simões had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Cortinhola getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Eusébio Carvalho hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexandre Santarém in the 90th minute of play forced Cortinhola's goalkeeper Jaime Campos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
