After a rather tough play, Carvide's David Delgado got a free kick in the 2nd minute. 3 minutes into the match, Carvide's goal looked a bit too open when Américo Amaro came free, but Mário Melo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ricardo Cruz hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Bernardo Pires took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ricardo Gaspar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Amadeu Ferreira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardo Pires having to interfere. Bernardo Pires showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amadeu Ferreira, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Amadeu Ferro charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Amadeu Ferro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 16th minute, Amadeu Ferro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ricardo Gaspar struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Bernardo Pires didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Carvide. After 21 played minutes, Carvide's Cristiano Soares shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Bernardo Pires came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Carvide reached it. Luís Santos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luís Santos took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mário Melo. Mário Melo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Américo Amaro to make the kick off. Mário Melo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Américo Amaro, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Galeota's Luís Santos got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 56th minute Américo Amaro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mário Melo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ricardo Cruz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mário Melo having to interfere. If Amadeu Ferro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Amadeu Ferreira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Bernardo Pires tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 74 minutes, Cristóvão Pedroso mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Galeota and the Carvide players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Galeota getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Cristóvão Pedroso hit a great ball. Galeota's Bernardo Pires played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ricardo Gaspar in the 75th minute of play. Amadeu Ferreira's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bernardo Pires read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. Carvide's Amadeu Ferreira got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
