Joaquim Sá showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sérgio Magalhães, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. If Basílio Lopes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Afonso Sá recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Afonso Sá fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hélder Machado having to interfere. Carlos Trindade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, SC Atenor's Pedro Dantas got a free kick in the 54th minute. When Eusébio Pinto fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pedra FC's protests and gave Eusébio Pinto a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Pedra FC getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Eusébio Pinto hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Afonso Sá in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hélder Machado saved SC Atenor from getting behind. 65 minutes into the match, SC Atenor's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Trindade came free, but Hélder Machado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hélder Machado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Afonso Sá in the 66th minute of play. Carlos Trindade recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 71st minute the ball was on its way in behind Pedra FC's goalkeeper Joaquim Sá, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Afonso Sá in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hélder Machado saved SC Atenor from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Basílio Lopes in the 75th minute of play forced Pedra FC's goalkeeper Joaquim Sá to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Sérgio Magalhães managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Atenor's supporters rose to their feet, but Sérgio Magalhães was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joaquim Sá breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Carlos Trindade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. In the 85th minute, Pedro Dantas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Carlos Trindade's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hélder Machado was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. 89 minutes into the match, Pedra FC's goalkeeper Joaquim Sá had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Basílio Lopes.
