Paulo Luz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Albertino Araújo having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jacinto Trindade during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jacinto Trindade kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. When Paulo Luz came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the SC Rocha fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulo Luz couldn't finish the play. Albertino Araújo was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from João Leal. Paulo Luz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Albertino Araújo having to interfere. After having played for 22 minutes, Alexandre Pedroso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Rocha's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alexandre Pedroso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Paulo Luz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Albertino Araújo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Alexandre Pedroso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 31st match minute, SC Peralcovo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Francisco Silva to maneuver through the defense. In the 32nd minute, Paulo Luz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Albertino Araújo was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. After 36 minutes of play, SC Rocha's Alexandre Pedroso made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Albertino Araújo was left in no man's land by his defense there! Albertino Lima showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alexandre Guarda, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. When Paulo Luz came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the SC Rocha fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulo Luz couldn't finish the play. Alexandre Pedroso struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Albertino Araújo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Rocha.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Paulo Luz was the one to do the kick off. With a little luck, SC Rocha's Albertino Lima got control of the ball when Gonçalo Almeida tried to sneak it across the goal line.
