The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Contenda booed when SC Bracal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hugo Matias didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in SC Bracal's zone, Basílio Almeida stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paulo Rocha came out of the goal and Basílio Almeida tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Contenda's André Melo got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 24 minutes into the match, SC Bracal's goal looked a bit too open when Cristiano Carneiro came free, but Paulo Rocha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Basílio Almeida fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo Rocha having to interfere. In the 27th minute André Melo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Rocha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 94 minutes, Basílio Almeida took a quick shot and it went in 2-2 without a chance for Paulo Rocha to make any attempt to save it. An unexpected shot in the 98th minute by Basílio Almeida got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Contenda were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing SC Bracal to leave the ground with a draw.
