In the 21st of the match, Jacinto Guerreiro tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Ricardo Ferro got in the way and made a wonderful save. In the 23rd minute Jorge Leão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tiago Morais saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 25th minute Ventelharia FC were awarded a corner. Daniel Gonçalves went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Ventelharia FC's corner Daniel Gonçalves fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Tiago Morais quite easily take care of the ball. Jacinto Guerreiro took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ricardo Ferro. Ricardo Ferro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. After a rather tough play, Espiche FC's Heitor Andrade got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Daniel Gonçalves was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 33rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Manuel Leão got free with Ricardo Ferro in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Manuel Leão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mariano Marques stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Manuel Leão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardo Ferro having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mariano Marques in the 59th minute of play forced Espiche FC's goalkeeper Tiago Morais to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 62 played minutes Ventelharia FC got a freekick which was hit by Jorge Gaspar. In the 65th minute of the match Espiche FC got a corner. Ventelharia FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tiago Abreu ran over to the corner to take the kick. The supporters of Ventelharia FC booed when Espiche FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Álvaro Magalhães didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mariano Marques fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tiago Morais having to interfere. Ricardo Ferro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manuel Leão in the 71st minute of the match. 75 minutes into the match, Jacinto Guerreiro notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Ventelharia FC's Ricardo Ferro. Ricardo Ferro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Manuel Leão managed to get in a good position for a shot. Espiche FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Manuel Leão was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ricardo Ferro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Álvaro Baptista kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Tiago Morais acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 81st minute, took the ball on the long shot from Daniel Gonçalves. A collision led to Ventelharia FC getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. José Costa hit a great ball. Ventelharia FC's Ricardo Ferro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manuel Leão in the 83rd minute of play. 90 minutes into the match, Ventelharia FC's goal looked a bit too open when Manuel Leão came free, but Ricardo Ferro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Espiche FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Ventelharia FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
