Lapas FC's Heitor Gonçalves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amílcar Martins in the 6th minute of play. Lapas FC were furious when André Brás was red carded, 15 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 14th minute of the game. One of Lapas FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of SC Sandomil:s goal. In the 19th match minute, Lapas FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by António Castro to maneuver through the defense. Raul Matias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Heitor Gonçalves having to interfere. When Bento Paredes came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Lapas FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bento Paredes couldn't finish the play. In the 29th minute, António Castro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Amílcar Martins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Heitor Gonçalves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to SC Sandomil getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Manuel Leite hit a great ball. After having played for 42 minutes, Amílcar Martins managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Sandomil's supporters crossed their fingers, but Amílcar Martins was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. António Castro was the one to do the kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Lapas FC's António Castro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that André Garcia narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Raul Matias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pedro Faro hit a great ball. 65 minutes into the game, Cândido Rocha was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Sandomil's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lapas FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, SC Sandomil's Cândido Rocha got a free kick in the 65th minute. João Mota hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. In the 71st minute of the match Pedro Barros shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Heitor Gonçalves showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Amílcar Martins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Heitor Gonçalves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Lapas FC's Heitor Gonçalves got control of the ball when Raul Matias tried to sneak it across the goal line. 84 minutes in the game, Raul Matias dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Raul Matias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Lapas FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pedro Faro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
