An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristiano Gaspar in the 15th minute of play forced Taveira FC's goalkeeper Armindo Moura to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Taveira FC's André Guerreiro was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 26th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The Taveira FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching SC Merufe's performance. The match ended with a win for SC Merufe.
