The referee ignored Cantarola FC's protests and gave Fernando Henriques a yellow card for diving instead. In the 15th match minute, Cantarola FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fernando Henriques to maneuver through the defense. After 26 played minutes Cantarola FC got a freekick which was hit by Rodrigo Abreu. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cantarola FC's goalkeeper Domingos Vaz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Miguel Reis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Pedro Reis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Domingos Vaz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Araújo in the 33rd minute of play. The attack was good, but when Afonso Delgado in the 34th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. 38 minutes into the match, Miguel Araújo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Domingos Vaz. Cantarola FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Miguel Araújo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The Cantarola FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Nave were winning 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Miguel Araújo was the one to do the kick off. When Afonso Delgado came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Nave fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Afonso Delgado couldn't finish the play. Cantarola FC's Domingos Vaz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Cantarola FC from getting a goal against them. Pedro Reis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Miguel Reis, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Afonso Delgado got free with Domingos Vaz in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Nave's Pedro Reis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristiano Lima in the 96th minute of play. 98 minutes into the match, Nave's goal looked a bit too open when Cristiano Lima came free, but Pedro Reis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
