In the 15th match minute, Mestras FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Armando Fernandes to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Coimbra in the 20th minute of play forced Bonfim's goalkeeper Inácio Fonseca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Duarte Nogueira charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down.
