Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Bonfim's Bernardo Alves started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Montemuro FC's Álvaro Correia got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Montemuro FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 9th minute, when Bernardo Alves scored to the left of an out of position Francisco Araújo, making the score, 1-0. The supporters of Montemuro FC booed when Bonfim was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vicente Henriques didn't get a good kick on the ball. Inácio Fonseca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedro Anjos in the 28th minute of the match. Inácio Fonseca didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pedro Lopes went, in the 29th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Bernardo Alves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francisco Araújo having to interfere. Paulo Pacheco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Pedro Anjos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Inácio Fonseca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedro Lopes in the 48th minute of the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pedro Anjos to make the kick off. Bonfim's Inácio Fonseca proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Bonfim from getting a goal against them. In the 60th minute Pedro Anjos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Inácio Fonseca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 63rd match minute, Montemuro FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manuel Antunes to maneuver through the defense. After 64 played minutes, Bonfim's Vicente Henriques shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Francisco Araújo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Bonfim reached it. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alfredo Viana in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Francisco Araújo saved Montemuro FC from getting behind. The supporters of Bonfim booed when Montemuro FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marco Reis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alfredo Viana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francisco Araújo having to interfere. David Trindade was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 80 minutes into the match. Vicente Henriques walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. An unexpected shot in the 86th minute by Pedro Lopes got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Pedro Lopes struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Inácio Fonseca didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Montemuro FC. If Bernardo Alves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Montemuro FC's Francisco Araújo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfredo Viana in the 93rd minute of play. Bernardo Alves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
