The supporters of Constantina FC booed when SC Cergas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Artur Cruz didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Filipe Branco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 28 minutes into the match, Abel Castro notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of SC Cergas's Armando Veiga. Armando Veiga was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 32nd minute, Filipe Branco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After the first half Constantina FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The corner ended in Cristóvão Vale almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but SC Cergas's Armando Veiga did a great save. With a little luck, SC Cergas's Armando Veiga got control of the ball when Joaquim Dantas tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in SC Cergas's zone, Joaquim Dantas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. When Filipe Branco came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the SC Cergas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Filipe Branco couldn't finish the play. Filipe Branco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Emanuel Machado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
