Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Fornea's Afonso Vaz started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd match minute, Fornea was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gaspar Carneiro to maneuver through the defense. After 8 minutes Fornea's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Bernardo Nunes who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Bernardo Nunes got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Rui Cunha quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After a rather tough play, Palheira FC's Vítor Vale got a free kick in the 11th minute. Daniel Leão was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 12th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Domingos Brito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 24th minute, Cláudio Nunes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Cláudio Nunes was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 26 minutes had been played. The supporters of Palheira FC booed when Fornea was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cláudio Nunes didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee felt a red card was in order, 31 minutes into the game, when Joaquim Fernandes put in a rough tackle. In the 30th minute, one of Fornea:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Fornea. 41 minutes into the match, Fornea's goal looked a bit too open when Domingos Brito came free, but Rui Cunha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rui Cunha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Domingos Brito, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. 46 minutes into the game, Afonso Vaz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fornea's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Palheira FC the free kick. Afonso Vaz hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vítor Pedroso stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Domingos Brito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vítor Pedroso struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Rui Cunha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Palheira FC. Artur Pereira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Domingos Brito fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rui Cunha having to interfere. Domingos Brito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
