In the 4th minute the ball was on its way in behind Arouca's goalkeeper Artur Macedo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Artur Macedo made an important save on a dangerous shot by José Esteves in the 6th minute. In the 6th minute, Bernardo Alves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Marco Mota managed to get in a good position for a shot. Urqueira FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Marco Mota was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Artur Macedo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. António Valente's late challenge caught a Urqueira FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. António Valente helped the player get up and apologised. José Tavares might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Artur Macedo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. José Tavares ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Arouca getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Bernardo Alves hit a great ball. Urqueira FC's Gil Fonseca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Ramos in the 18th minute of play. André Matias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Gil Fonseca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 21st match minute, Urqueira FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Tavares to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Urqueira FC's zone, André Matias stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gil Fonseca came out of the goal and André Matias tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gil Fonseca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from André Matias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. José Esteves who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 37thth minute tested the skills of Artur Macedo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 38th minute, Marco Mota reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Artur Macedo. The goal made the score 1-0. If André Matias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 44th match minute, Urqueira FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomás Leal to maneuver through the defense.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marco Mota to make the kick off. 59 minutes into the match, Arouca's goal looked a bit too open when Marco Mota came free, but Artur Macedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 61 minutes Arouca's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Tomás Leal who took care of the corner kick. The supporters of Arouca booed when Urqueira FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hélder Amorim didn't get a good kick on the ball. José Esteves took the ball and in the 66 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Artur Macedo. Artur Macedo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Urqueira FC's Gil Fonseca proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save Urqueira FC from getting a goal against them. Gil Fonseca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from André Matias in the 79th minute of the match. 88 minutes into the match, Arouca's goal looked a bit too open when José Esteves came free, but Artur Macedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Esteves in the 93rd minute of play forced Arouca's goalkeeper Artur Macedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When António Valente was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 94 minutes had been played. A collision led to Arouca getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. António Valente hit a great ball. José Esteves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Urqueira FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
