The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Vicente Silva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emanuel Carneiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to SC Ribeirinha getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Carlos Borges hit a great ball. 7 minutes into the match, SC Ribeirinha's goal looked a bit too open when Artur Faro came free, but Vicente Silva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 11 minutes of play, SC Ribeirinha's Armando Amorim made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Manuel Faro was left in no man's land by his defense there! Emanuel Carneiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vicente Silva having to interfere. 17 minutes into the game, Basílio Queirós was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Paraimo FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Ribeirinha the free kick. After 17 played minutes Paraimo FC got a freekick which was hit by Basílio Queirós. Artur Faro succeeded in the game's 19th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-1. Emanuel Carneiro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vicente Silva read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. Artur Faro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vicente Silva having to interfere. Paraimo FC's Manuel Faro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Paraimo FC from getting a goal against them. Vasco Sá sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vasco Sá blasted a shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Manuel Faro having to make a save. When Emanuel Carneiro came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Paraimo FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emanuel Carneiro couldn't finish the play. If Artur Faro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Emanuel Carneiro was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Paraimo FC getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Basílio Queirós hit a great ball. SC Ribeirinha's Fábio Cruz couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 55th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Paraimo FC. When Armando Amorim came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the SC Ribeirinha fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Armando Amorim couldn't finish the play. In the 58th minute Vasco Sá shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manuel Faro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 60 minutes, Artur Faro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Paraimo FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Artur Faro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Armando Amorim in the 64th minute of play forced Paraimo FC's goalkeeper Manuel Faro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 79 played minutes, Paraimo FC's Fernando Simões shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Vicente Silva came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Paraimo FC reached it. Artur Faro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Vicente Silva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 89 minutes into the match, Paraimo FC's Artur Faro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vicente Silva narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Vicente Silva made an important save on a dangerous shot by Artur Faro in the 91st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Armando Amorim in the 93rd minute of play forced Paraimo FC's goalkeeper Manuel Faro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 94thth minute of the game Vasco Sá who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Paraimo FC's Manuel Faro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The Paraimo FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
