Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Sousa FC's José Amaral started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jorge Lima fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manuel Leiria having to interfere. 11 minutes into the match, SC Picanceira's goalkeeper Manuel Leiria had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jorge Lima. The crowd rose to their feet as Sousa FC's Jorge Lima slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Manuel Leiria. That made the score 1-0 after 15 minutes of play. Joaquim Assunção's late challenge caught a Sousa FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joaquim Assunção helped the player get up and apologised. Joaquim Assunção kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Manuel Leiria made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jorge Lima in the 27th minute. If Jorge Lima had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joaquim Assunção received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. David Amaro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sousa FC's David Amaro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ricardo Figueiredo in the 36th minute of play. Adolfo Viana hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. In the 48th minute, Delfim Guarda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. David Amaro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adelino Delgado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joaquim Assunção to make the kick off. SC Picanceira's Manuel Leiria played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Amaral in the 54th minute of play. In the 57th minute, José Amaral got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. SC Picanceira's Joaquim Assunção got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Jorge Lima's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Manuel Leiria was relentless in the 64th minute of the game. José Amaral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manuel Leiria having to interfere. 72 minutes had been played when some careless play by SC Picanceira's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Delfim Guarda was slow to take the kick. During this time Sousa FC's players had a chance to rest. If Joaquim Assunção had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 77 minutes into the game, Jorge Lima was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sousa FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Picanceira the free kick. The supporters of SC Picanceira booed when Sousa FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jorge Lima didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sousa FC's Alfredo Vieira pulled a muscle in his leg after 80 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Henrique Moura charged in rather forcefully in the 80th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Henrique Moura the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 81 played minutes SC Picanceira got a freekick which was hit by Henrique Moura. Ricardo Figueiredo's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 85thth minute, David Amaro skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Jorge Lima sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 91st minute, Vicente Luz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Jorge Lima had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Ricardo Figueiredo came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the SC Picanceira fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ricardo Figueiredo couldn't finish the play. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Sousa FC had won after a very even match.
