An unexpectedly hard shot by Jorge Lima in the 5th minute of play forced Castanheira FC's goalkeeper Vítor Vaz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 14th minute, Rui Lisboa had to leave the field with a concussion. 14 minutes into the game, Manuel Sá was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sousa FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Castanheira FC the free kick. Manuel Sá hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Oliveira Pedroso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. David Amaro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. José Amaral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vítor Vaz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manuel Sá in the 22nd minute of play. Oliveira Pedroso struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. David Amaro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Castanheira FC. A collision led to Sousa FC getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Manuel Sá hit a great ball. Jorge Lima blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vítor Vaz having to make a save. Jorge Lima struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Vítor Vaz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sousa FC.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. José Amaral was the one to do the kick off. Oliveira Pedroso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 55th minute of the game. One of Castanheira FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Sousa FC:s goal. Vítor Vaz went to the wrong direction when Delfim Guarda was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Manuel Sá fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vítor Vaz having to interfere. Jorge Lima could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Vítor Vaz made a huge save. After 64 minutes of play, Castanheira FC's Oliveira Pedroso made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. David Amaro was left in no man's land by his defense there! Amílcar Coimbra scored 3-0 in the 69th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of David Amaro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. David Amaro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amílcar Coimbra in the 74th minute of play. Vítor Vaz made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Jorge Lima sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling José Amaral in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vítor Vaz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 77 played minutes Castanheira FC got a freekick which was hit by André Guerreiro. With a couple of smart ball manuevers José Amaral in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vítor Vaz saved Castanheira FC from getting behind. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sousa FC's goalkeeper David Amaro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 88th minute, Eusébio Aguiar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vítor Vaz was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Delfim Guarda. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jorge Lima got free with Vítor Vaz in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 92 minutes, Paulo Silva mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Castanheira FC and the Sousa FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Castanheira FC getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Paulo Silva hit a great ball. In the 94th match minute, Castanheira FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amadeu Moura to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as José Amaral kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Vítor Vaz. That made the score 3-1 in the 96 minute of play. If Jorge Lima had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 99th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
