After 24 played minutes Guifoes FC got a freekick which was hit by André Araújo. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Guifoes FC's goalkeeper Óscar Moniz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Lourenço Gaspar blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Óscar Moniz having to make a save. SC Passos's Gonçalo Barbosa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armindo Morais in the 32nd minute of play. Lourenço Gaspar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Óscar Moniz having to interfere. Abel Teixeira's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Óscar Moniz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. After having played for 40 minutes, Armindo Morais managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Guifoes FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Armindo Morais was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to SC Passos getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Joaquim Moutinho hit a great ball. After 47 played minutes Guifoes FC got a freekick which was hit by Armindo Morais. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

SC Passos's Gonçalo Barbosa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save SC Passos from getting a goal against them. After 52 minutes, Paulo Matias mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Passos and the Guifoes FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 56th minute, Gustavo Azevedo sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and SC Passos's Gonçalo Barbosa didn't even have to move. A very good chance. Gonçalo Barbosa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diamantino Mendes in the 70th minute of the match. Gonçalo Barbosa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Armindo Morais in the 73rd minute. In the 73rd minute, Joaquim Moutinho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Armindo Morais had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
