In the 9th minute Alexandre Assis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Ribeiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Alexandre Assis came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the SC Sobrido fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alexandre Assis couldn't finish the play. Diamantino Rocha kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. SC Penafirme's Paulo Ribeiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexandre Assis in the 22nd minute of play. Xavier Leão blasted a shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Duarte Guarda having to make a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Xavier Leão managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Penafirme's supporters rose to their feet, but Xavier Leão was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Duarte Guarda breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Xavier Leão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Duarte Guarda having to interfere. After having played for 99 minutes, Xavier Leão managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Penafirme's supporters crossed their fingers, but Xavier Leão was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. SC Sobrido succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though SC Penafirme had controlled the match.
