Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Catarino Borba made the kick off which started today's match. Bruno Martins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. João Gomes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cândido Assis blasted a shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without João Gomes having to make a save. In the 10th minute, one of Mograo FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Mograo FC. António Dias had in the 12thth minute some difficulties stopping Sebastião Nascimento's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 12 minutes into the game, Penafirme's Sebastião Nascimento nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. António Dias made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. In a very dangerous position, a player in Mograo FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 15th minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, António Dias, was totally fooled by Penafirme's Sebastião Nascimento, who 17 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After having played for 24 minutes, Bruno Martins managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mograo FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bruno Martins was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 30 minutes into the match, Penafirme's goal looked a bit too open when Cândido Assis came free, but João Gomes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Basílio Santos charged in rather forcefully in the 33rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Basílio Santos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Mograo FC's Basílio Santos got a free kick in the 33rd minute. If Catarino Borba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. João Gomes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cândido Assis in the 44th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.
The wind increased when Bruno Martins made the kick off in the second half. Fábio Anjos kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Catarino Borba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without António Dias having to interfere. In the 62nd minute Fábio Anjos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but António Dias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Cândido Assis came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Mograo FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cândido Assis couldn't finish the play. Bruno Martins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Gomes having to interfere. 70 minutes into the match, Penafirme's goal looked a bit too open when Bruno Martins came free, but João Gomes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bruno Martins sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Penafirme's João Gomes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save Penafirme from getting a goal against them.
