Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Misericordia's Fernando Borges started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Augusto Resende sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. André Costa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from José Alves went, in the 13th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. André Costa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Augusto Resende in the 22nd minute of play. Formigosa FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 25th minute, when Fernando Borges scored to the left of an out of position Alexandre Resende, making the score, 1-1. Alexandre Resende made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fernando Borges in the 32nd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Augusto Resende managed to get in a good position for a shot. Formigosa FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Augusto Resende was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. André Costa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 39 minutes, Emanuel Moutinho mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Formigosa FC and the Misericordia players grew even worse after the yellow card. Emanuel Moutinho kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Abel Lopes struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Alexandre Resende didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Misericordia. Alexandre Resende took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fernando Borges, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

In the 51st play minute Viriato Silva came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised André Costa. 1-2. André Costa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Augusto Resende's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. After 56 played minutes Formigosa FC got a freekick which was hit by José Alves. In the 57th minute of the match Manuel Pinto sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Alexandre Resende skillfully saved the ball. André Costa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Augusto Resende, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by José Alves during the 68th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Misericordia booed when Formigosa FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Alves didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fernando Borges in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alexandre Resende saved Formigosa FC from getting behind. Misericordia's André Costa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Augusto Resende in the 70th minute of play. Alexandre Resende came out of the goal in the 73rd minute to try and stop a shot by Misericordia's Fernando Borges. But to his dismay, Fernando Borges quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. After 79 played minutes Misericordia got a freekick which was hit by Abel Lopes. Viriato Silva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without André Costa having to interfere. After 93 minutes of play, Formigosa FC's Viriato Silva made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. André Costa was left in no man's land by his defense there! The Formigosa FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Formigosa FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
