Pedro Miranda stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jorge Abreu's shot from short distance in the 7th minute. Paulo Morais kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. Pedro Miranda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorge Abreu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 14 minutes into the match, Jorge Abreu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Pedro Miranda. Machico's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jorge Abreu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. If Bruno Azevedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 22nd minute Bruno Azevedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lúcio Martins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Carlos Martins in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pedro Miranda prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Machico's Pedro Miranda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Martins in the 29th minute of play. Bruno Azevedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Lúcio Martins tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 32 minutes into the match, Andorinha's Carlos Martins sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pedro Miranda narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Pedro Miranda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorge Abreu in the 34th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Bruno Azevedo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Machico's supporters rose to their feet, but Bruno Azevedo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lúcio Martins breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Henrique Melo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Machico booed when Andorinha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albertino Pires didn't get a good kick on the ball. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lúcio Martins prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpected shot in the 77th minute by Carlos Martins got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Jorge Abreu struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Pedro Miranda didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Andorinha. 86 minutes into the match, Machico's goalkeeper Pedro Miranda had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Carlos Martins. Henrique Melo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lúcio Martins read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. Lúcio Martins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bruno Azevedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 94th minute, Carlos Martins ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pedro Miranda was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Andorinha eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
