After some careless play in the SC Castanheira defense, Bento Freitas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lúcio Ferreira. The SC Castanheira fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lúcio Ferreira should have stopped the shot. Lúcio Ferreira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from António Leão in the 6th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Fábio Moura's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Carlos Faro was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Bento Freitas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bairro FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Bento Freitas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lúcio Ferreira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Carlos Faro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from João Moura in the 17th minute of the match. Bento Freitas might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lúcio Ferreira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bento Freitas ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience was convinced that António Leão's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lúcio Ferreira was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. After a rather tough play, SC Castanheira's Catarino Cunha got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fábio Moura in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Carlos Faro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in SC Castanheira's zone, António Leão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lúcio Ferreira came out of the goal and António Leão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lúcio Ferreira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Bairro FC's António Leão got a free kick in the 40th minute. After 44 minutes, Fábio Moura made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Bairro FC's Carlos Faro tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Bairro FC's Carlos Faro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Bairro FC from getting a goal against them. 60 minutes into the match, Bairro FC's goalkeeper Carlos Faro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fábio Moura. After having played for 61 minutes, Fábio Moura managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Castanheira's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fábio Moura was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 63 minutes of play, SC Castanheira's Fábio Moura made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Carlos Faro was left in no man's land by his defense there! João Moura sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lúcio Ferreira came out of the goal and António Leão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 85 minutes into the match, Bento Freitas notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of SC Castanheira's Lúcio Ferreira. Lúcio Ferreira was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. António Leão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
