In the 5th minute, Filipe Gomes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Manuel Amorim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A collision led to Resgatados getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Lourenço Santos hit a great ball. Manuel Amorim received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Artur Moniz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 17 minutes, Filipe Gomes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Ferragudo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Filipe Gomes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Simão Garcia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. João Pinto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. SC Ferragudo's João Pinto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save SC Ferragudo from getting a goal against them. He walked away shaking his head. Manuel Amorim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Artur Moniz having to interfere. Mário Nascimento charged in rather forcefully in the 33rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mário Nascimento the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 33 played minutes SC Ferragudo got a freekick which was hit by Mário Nascimento. Simão Garcia was extremely unlucky when he, in the 36th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. João Pinto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Simão Garcia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manuel Amorim in the 43rd minute of play forced Resgatados's goalkeeper Artur Moniz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alfredo Gueifão could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but João Pinto made a huge save. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
Filipe Gomes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Resgatados's Rogério Assunção got a free kick in the 55th minute. Pedro Amaro, 56 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 66 minutes into the game, Resgatados's Alfredo Gueifão nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. João Pinto made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Artur Moniz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manuel Amorim, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. The supporters of Resgatados booed when SC Ferragudo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abel Alves didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Simão Garcia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Many of SC Ferragudo's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. SC Ferragudo may have spent more time on the ball, but Resgatados were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
