Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Daniel Reis in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. Cândido Faro stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving André Vaz. 0-2. 38 minutes into the match, Viriato Alves dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Eusébio Pinto, 1-2. Jorge Mendes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eusébio Pinto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Viriato Sousa in the 48th minute. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The wind increased when Daniel Reis made the kick off in the second half. Jorge Mendes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without André Vaz having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Viriato Alves in the 60th minute of play forced Zimbreiros's goalkeeper Eusébio Pinto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Grovelas's André Vaz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save Grovelas from getting a goal against them. 65 minutes into the match, Grovelas's goalkeeper André Vaz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jorge Mendes. When Viriato Sousa came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Grovelas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Viriato Sousa couldn't finish the play. Jorge Mendes's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 85thth minute, André Vaz skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. André Vaz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Reis in the 87th minute of the match. If Viriato Sousa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eusébio Pinto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Viriato Sousa in the 95th minute of play. Grovelas's André Vaz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Reis in the 98th minute of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Zimbreiros had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
