Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Gaspar Fernandes took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 2nd minute, Viriato Alves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. André Oliveira stood somewhat misplaced when Viriato Sousa came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 5 minute. Viriato Alves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 19 minutes, André Andrade mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Grovelas and the Atouguia FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in Grovelas's zone, Eusébio Sousa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. André Vaz came out of the goal and Eusébio Sousa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Viriato Sousa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Grovelas's André Vaz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gaspar Fernandes in the 32nd minute of play. Viriato Sousa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Cristiano Nunes fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Atouguia FC's protests and gave Cristiano Nunes a yellow card for diving instead. After 36 played minutes Atouguia FC got a freekick which was hit by Cristiano Nunes. In the 42nd minute Viriato Alves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but André Oliveira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Gaspar Fernandes came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Atouguia FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gaspar Fernandes couldn't finish the play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
Atouguia FC's André Oliveira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Viriato Alves in the 54th minute of play. Viriato Sousa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. André Oliveira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 57 minutes of play, Grovelas's Viriato Alves made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. André Oliveira was left in no man's land by his defense there! 67 minutes into the match, Grovelas's goalkeeper André Vaz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eusébio Sousa. André Oliveira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Viriato Alves, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Atouguia FC's zone, Viriato Sousa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. André Oliveira came out of the goal and Viriato Sousa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 78th minute of the match Duarte Teixeira shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but André Vaz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Eusébio Sousa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without André Vaz having to interfere. André Vaz was out of position in the 82 minute of play, and Gaspar Fernandes capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Gaspar Fernandes really showed his touch with that goal: 2-3. Viriato Sousa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. André Oliveira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 90th minute the ball was on its way in behind Atouguia FC's goalkeeper André Oliveira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Viriato Sousa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 99th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Atouguia FC were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Grovelas's much stronger midfield.
