Sérgio Silva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 14th minute of the match, Adolfo Moreira tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Viriato Anjos saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adolfo Moreira in the 18th minute of play forced Garganta FC's goalkeeper Viriato Anjos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Júlio Faro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Viriato Anjos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alberto Nascimento came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Garganta FC's Sérgio Silva. But to his dismay, Sérgio Silva quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 27th minute Sérgio Silva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alberto Nascimento saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 28th minute, Américo Maia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Garganta FC fans' excitement grew in the 38th match minute when Garganta FC's Américo Martins looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Viriato Anjos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adolfo Moreira, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. The SC Irivo players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Garganta FC were winning 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Américo Martins to strike the kick off in the second half. Garganta FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Viriato Henriques in the 54th minute. Garganta FC's Viriato Henriques was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Alberto Nascimento in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Álvaro Ramos's late challenge caught a SC Irivo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Álvaro Ramos helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Garganta FC's Álvaro Ramos got a free kick in the 58th minute. Eduardo Cruz kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Jorge Santos's late challenge caught a Garganta FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jorge Santos helped the player get up and apologised. In a very dangerous position, a player in SC Irivo fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 63rd minute. Penalty! The referee gave Garganta FC a penalty, 66 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Viriato Henriques, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of SC Irivo's Alberto Nascimento. 0-3. Alberto Nascimento took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Américo Martins, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sérgio Silva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alberto Nascimento having to interfere. 81 minutes into the match, Adolfo Moreira notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Garganta FC's Viriato Anjos. Viriato Anjos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 85 minutes into the match, SC Irivo's goal looked a bit too open when Américo Martins came free, but Alberto Nascimento reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Viriato Anjos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Júlio Faro in the 87th minute of the match. If Júlio Faro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Viriato Anjos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adolfo Moreira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 96thth minute of the game Américo Martins who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Irivo's Alberto Nascimento was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Garganta FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
