Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Sebastião Pires started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. 3 minutes into the match, Fernando Dantas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Viriato Anjos. Garganta FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fernando Dantas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 9th match minute, Ventoso FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amadeu Cruz to maneuver through the defense. In the 10th minute of the match Viriato Henriques shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but António Barbosa showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The supporters of Ventoso FC booed when Garganta FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raul Pereira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Viriato Anjos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sebastião Pires, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. After having played for 18 minutes, Tiago Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ventoso FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tiago Costa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 20th match minute, Garganta FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Álvaro Ramos to maneuver through the defense. Fernando Dantas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 28 minutes into the match, Ventoso FC's Sebastião Pires sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Viriato Anjos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 29 minutes into the match, Ventoso FC's goal looked a bit too open when Américo Martins came free, but António Barbosa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 32nd minute, Sebastião Pires got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sebastião Pires might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Viriato Anjos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sebastião Pires ran back to his position shaking his head. If Sérgio Silva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Américo Martins's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but António Barbosa was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sérgio Silva got free with António Barbosa in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Américo Martins made a kick off. If Fernando Dantas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Sérgio Silva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 53 minutes into the match, Ventoso FC's goal looked a bit too open when Sérgio Silva came free, but António Barbosa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sebastião Pires fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Viriato Anjos having to interfere. Amadeu Cruz charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Amadeu Cruz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 60th minute, one of Ventoso FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ventoso FC. If Fernando Dantas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fernando Dantas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Viriato Anjos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 72nd minute of the match Viriato Henriques shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but António Barbosa showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Sérgio Silva blasted a shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without António Barbosa having to make a save. Manuel Marques kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Fernando Dantas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 81st minute, Fernando Dantas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ventoso FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. When Américo Martins came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Garganta FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Américo Martins couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Ventoso FC booed when Garganta FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Álvaro Ramos didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Ventoso FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Ventoso FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
