In the 4th minute of the match Vasco Moutinho shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Alberto Nascimento showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Fernando Dantas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alberto Nascimento showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sebastião Pires in the 8th minute of the match. Sebastião Pires received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Alberto Nascimento tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 13 minutes, José Leiria mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ventoso FC and the SC Irivo players grew even worse after the yellow card. José Leiria kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. In the 23rd minute, Sebastião Pires got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Eduardo Cruz hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernando Dantas in the 27th minute of play forced SC Irivo's goalkeeper Alberto Nascimento to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpected shot in the 31st minute by Adolfo Moreira got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 42nd minute Adolfo Moreira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but António Barbosa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, SC Irivo's André Teixeira got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Alberto Nascimento took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fernando Dantas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 48 minutes into the match, Ventoso FC's goal looked a bit too open when Adolfo Moreira came free, but António Barbosa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Adolfo Moreira to make the kick off. António Barbosa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adolfo Moreira in the 55th minute of play. Alberto Nascimento didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 57th minute, which inside left pole to 0-1. If Fernando Dantas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. If Sebastião Pires had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fernando Dantas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Alberto Nascimento made a huge save. Fernando Dantas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alberto Nascimento having to make a save. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
