Mariano Magalhães received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Paulo Matos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers José Maia in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Paulo Matos saved Guaritas from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Guaritas's Américo Alves got a free kick in the 31st minute. After 32 played minutes, SC Lardosa's Fernando Jesus shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Paulo Matos came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SC Lardosa reached it. Jorge Martins showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Delgado in the 33rd minute of the match. 35 minutes had been played when some careless play by SC Lardosa's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Lúcio Ribeiro was slow to take the kick. During this time Guaritas's players had a chance to rest. After a rather tough play, SC Lardosa's Mariano Magalhães got a free kick in the 36th minute. When Álvaro Fernandes fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Lardosa's protests and gave Álvaro Fernandes a yellow card for diving instead. Daniel Delgado struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Jorge Martins didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Guaritas. Jorge Martins showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Delgado in the 47th minute of the match. Guaritas's Jorge Viana got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After a defensive mix-up in SC Lardosa's zone, Daniel Delgado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jorge Martins came out of the goal and Daniel Delgado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Paulo Matos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Maia, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. In the 69th minute Mariano Magalhães suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. Vítor Gomes's late challenge caught a SC Lardosa's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vítor Gomes helped the player get up and apologised. Vítor Gomes hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Jorge Martins showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Delgado, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. 75 minutes into the game, Jorge Viana cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Jorge Martins was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. José Maia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. José Maia struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Paulo Matos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Lardosa. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Daniel Delgado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Guaritas's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Delgado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jorge Martins breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Guaritas's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
