Fernando Leiria showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedro Pinho in the 3rd minute of the match. Fernando Leiria took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Pinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joaquim Barros might have been able to make a better finish in the 10th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cristiano Mota. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Joaquim Barros ran back to his position shaking his head. After 18 minutes, Rui Aleixo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Caria FC and the SC Caixeiros players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Caria FC getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Rui Aleixo hit a great ball. Afonso Pereira charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Afonso Pereira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joaquim Barros in the 28th minute of play forced SC Caixeiros's goalkeeper Cristiano Mota to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Manuel Henriques received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Cristiano Mota tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cristiano Mota took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manuel Henriques, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vasco Baptista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernando Leiria having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joaquim Barros in the 37th minute of play forced SC Caixeiros's goalkeeper Cristiano Mota to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 41 played minutes Caria FC got a freekick which was hit by Gil Neto. Fernando Leiria showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedro Pinho, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. If Pedro Pinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

53 minutes into the match, Caria FC's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Pinho came free, but Fernando Leiria reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cristiano Mota made an important save on a dangerous shot by Manuel Henriques in the 56th minute. Caria FC's Manuel Henriques got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Caria FC's Fernando Leiria played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedro Pinho in the 60th minute of play. The supporters of SC Caixeiros booed when Caria FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gil Neto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rui Ferreira was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 69th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 72nd match minute, SC Caixeiros was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Afonso Pereira to maneuver through the defense. Pedro Pinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Caria FC's Fernando Leiria played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedro Pinho in the 91st minute of play. When Rui Aleixo was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 91 minutes had been played. In the 92nd minute, Rui Aleixo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 93 played minutes SC Caixeiros got a freekick which was hit by Vasco Baptista. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
