In the 10th minute Augusto Setúbal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jaime Moniz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 13th minute, Augusto Setúbal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Augusto Setúbal kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. A hard shot 18 in the game by Ricardo Araújo from a close distance when the talented Gonçalo Fonseca managed to make a qualified save. Murgido FC's players were relieved. Murgido FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ponta the free kick. When António Correia fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ponta's protests and gave António Correia a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Murgido FC booed when Ponta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. António Correia didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Murgido FC's Augusto Setúbal in the 44th minute got a chance for a shot 44th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ponta's goalie prevented a goal. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Augusto Setúbal to strike the kick off in the second half. When Américo Faro came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Murgido FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Américo Faro couldn't finish the play. An unexpected shot in the 54th minute by Augusto Setúbal got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Américo Faro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In a very dangerous position, a player in Murgido FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 60th minute. Penalty! Afonso Anjos hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. 89 minutes into the match, Ponta's Bernardo Mota broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Murgido FC's zone, Ricardo Araújo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Murgido FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
