In the 14th minute, Abel Lima made a precise shot to the right of Gaspar Amaral. Rates FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Hugo Matos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacinto Dias having to interfere. Jacinto Dias showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorge Melo in the 22nd minute of the match. An unexpected shot in the 45th minute by Hugo Matos got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jorge Melo made a kick off. José Moutinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If José Moutinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 56 minutes into the game, Inácio Pinheiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Paradelhas's Jacinto Dias played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorge Melo in the 59th minute of play. If Jorge Melo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 63 played minutes Rates FC got a freekick which was hit by Jorge Melo. If Hugo Matos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Hugo Matos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Jorge Melo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rates FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jorge Melo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jacinto Dias breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rates FC's Gaspar Amaral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Moutinho in the 75th minute of play. Abel Lima could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Gaspar Amaral made a huge save. Gaspar Amaral was out of position in the 91 minute of play, and Abel Lima capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Abel Lima really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. Jacinto Dias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorge Melo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 97th minute of the match Rates FC got a corner. SC Paradelhas's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Heitor Garcia ran over to the corner to take the kick.
