Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Barrellas's Joaquim Figueiredo started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Barrellas getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Daniel Tavares hit a great ball. If Joaquim Cruz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when David Luz got free with Heitor Lima in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Abel Mota during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Joaquim Figueiredo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Heitor Lima read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. David Luz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Heitor Lima showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joaquim Figueiredo, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. 36 minutes into the game, David Luz cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Heitor Lima was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Joaquim Figueiredo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. David Luz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Heitor Lima having to interfere. Jorge Resende made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Filipe Martins in the 46th minute of play. Filipe Martins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Jorge Resende tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

After 52 played minutes Portimao got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Monteiro. After having played for 55 minutes, Filipe Martins managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Portimao's supporters crossed their fingers, but Filipe Martins was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Joaquim Cruz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 61 minutes into the match, Barrellas's goal looked a bit too open when Filipe Martins came free, but Jorge Resende reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 68 minutes into the game, Raul Pinheiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Barrellas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Portimao the free kick. The supporters of Portimao booed when Barrellas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raul Pinheiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Manuel Antunes was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 69th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Daniel Tavares charged in rather forcefully in the 70th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Daniel Tavares the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 71 played minutes Barrellas got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Tavares. In the 83rd minute of the game, Raul Pinheiro landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. After 83 minutes of play Portimao's Abel Mota was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After a rather tough play, Portimao's Abel Mota got a free kick in the 85th minute. When David Luz, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 86 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Heitor Lima was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Joaquim Figueiredo, 89 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After 95 minutes, Filipe Martins mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Portimao and the Barrellas players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 95th match minute, Portimao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Filipe Martins to maneuver through the defense. Jorge Borges took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 96th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Heitor Lima. Portimao's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
