The crowd rose to their feet as Murgido FC's Joel Branco slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Joaquim Costa. That made the score 1-0 after 11 minutes of play. Álvaro Valente might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Joaquim Costa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Álvaro Valente ran back to his position shaking his head. After 37 played minutes, SC Atalaia's Manuel Morais shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Bruno Vaz came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SC Atalaia reached it. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The wind increased when Joel Branco made the kick off in the second half. If Joel Branco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Emanuel Araújo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruno Vaz having to interfere. Bruno Vaz made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Emanuel Araújo sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, SC Atalaia's Cristiano Machado got a free kick in the 75th minute. In the 79th minute, André Martins got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, Murgido FC's Bruno Vaz got control of the ball when Emanuel Araújo tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 86th minute, Emanuel Araújo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Murgido FC's Sandro Setúbal got a free kick in the 87th minute. André Martins's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bruno Vaz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. Bruno Vaz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from André Martins, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Joel Branco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sandro Setúbal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquim Costa having to interfere.
