When Eduardo Viegas came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Canais fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eduardo Viegas couldn't finish the play. A hard shot by Tomás Ramos from long distance, 8 minutes into the match, got Óscar Barros's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Canais's Óscar Barros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristóvão Dantas in the 15th minute of play. In the 16th minute of the match SC Ventozelos got a corner. Canais's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Rui Monteiro ran over to the corner to take the kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Eduardo Viegas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Canais's supporters rose to their feet, but Eduardo Viegas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Duarte Silva breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Joaquim Figueiredo succeeded in the game's 30th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-1. Óscar Barros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristóvão Dantas in the 77th minute of the match. Rui Guerreiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Óscar Barros having to interfere. If Cristóvão Dantas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joaquim Figueiredo might have been able to make a better finish in the 98th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Duarte Silva. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Joaquim Figueiredo ran back to his position shaking his head. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
