The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Afonso Matias hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. When the match had gone on for 11 minutes, Américo Assis took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Diogo Luz to make any attempt to save it. Basílio Azevedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. António Marques tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sebastião Almeida in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck António Marques prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Prada FC booed when Folgoso was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joaquim Castro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Diogo Luz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Américo Assis in the 18th minute of play. With a little luck, Folgoso's Diogo Luz got control of the ball when Paulo Moniz tried to sneak it across the goal line. 25 minutes into the game, Basílio Azevedo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. António Marques was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Basílio Azevedo came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Folgoso fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Basílio Azevedo couldn't finish the play. Joaquim Castro's late challenge caught a Prada FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joaquim Castro helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Prada FC booed when Folgoso was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sandro Abreu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Diogo Luz made a huge save. 41 minutes into the match, Folgoso's Basílio Azevedo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that António Marques narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Paulo Moniz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Folgoso's Diogo Luz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Américo Assis in the 48th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

In the 56th minute Artur Cunha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but António Marques saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 58 minutes of play, Folgoso's Sebastião Almeida made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. António Marques was left in no man's land by his defense there! Folgoso's Basílio Azevedo got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Diogo Luz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Paulo Moniz's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. Paulo Moniz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Diogo Luz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 77th minute of the match, Basílio Azevedo tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but António Marques saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Sebastião Almeida managed to get in a good position for a shot. Folgoso's supporters rose to their feet, but Sebastião Almeida was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. António Marques breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Afonso Matias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diogo Luz having to interfere. Américo Assis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sandro Abreu in the 94th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Diogo Luz saved Folgoso from getting behind. In the 96th match minute, Prada FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Afonso Melo to maneuver through the defense. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Folgoso eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
