The tension between the Machico and the SC Alqueidao players grew even worse after the yellow card. Marco Antunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Simão Garcia having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Machico's Mariano Esteves got a free kick in the 6th minute. SC Alqueidao's Marco Antunes got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sandro Faro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gustavo Costa having to interfere. Ricardo Domingues's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gustavo Costa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. 16 minutes into the match, Machico's Ricardo Domingues sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gustavo Costa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Simão Garcia didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Viriato Dias went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 27 minutes into the match, Machico's goal looked a bit too open when Marco Antunes came free, but Simão Garcia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Viriato Dias in the 29th minute of play forced Machico's goalkeeper Simão Garcia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Viriato Dias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Simão Garcia having to interfere. Viriato Dias succeeded in the game's 40th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-2. Sandro Faro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gustavo Costa having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ricardo Domingues to make the kick off. After 52 minutes of play Machico's Fernando Gueifão was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The attack was good, but when Marco Antunes in the 55th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Viriato Dias recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sandro Faro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 66th minute, Machico's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Marco Antunes fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. SC Alqueidao's Viriato Dias got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Marco Antunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Simão Garcia having to interfere. Viriato Dias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Simão Garcia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 82nd play minute Marco Antunes came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Simão Garcia. 0-3. 88 minutes into the match, Machico's goalkeeper Simão Garcia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marco Antunes. Sandro Faro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gustavo Costa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 91st minute of play. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind Machico's goalkeeper Simão Garcia, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When the match was over SC Alqueidao could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Machico throughout the match.
