Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Cristóvão Machado started the match with the kick off. Adolfo Neves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. SC Montinhos's Ricardo Carvalho got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Carlos Gaspar's late challenge caught a SC Montinhos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Carlos Gaspar helped the player get up and apologised. In the 15th minute, Carlos Gaspar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 18 minutes into the match, SC Santana's goal looked a bit too open when Ricardo Carvalho came free, but Afonso Magalhães reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cristóvão Machado struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Bruno Leite didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Santana. After a defensive mix-up in SC Montinhos's zone, Cristóvão Machado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bruno Leite came out of the goal and Cristóvão Machado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, SC Montinhos's Jorge Queirós got a free kick in the 26th minute. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Santana's goalkeeper Afonso Magalhães, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Bruno Leite showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristóvão Machado, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. In the 39th minute of the match Manuel Aguiar sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bruno Leite skillfully saved the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ricardo Carvalho in the 41st minute of play forced SC Santana's goalkeeper Afonso Magalhães to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, SC Santana's Simão Resende got a free kick in the 44th minute. An unexpected shot in the 45th minute by Adolfo Neves got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ricardo Carvalho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in SC Montinhos's zone, Cristóvão Machado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bruno Leite came out of the goal and Cristóvão Machado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Delfim Cabral hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ricardo Carvalho in the 61st minute of play forced SC Santana's goalkeeper Afonso Magalhães to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 63 minutes SC Santana's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Augusto Faria who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on SC Montinhos's corner Augusto Faria fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Afonso Magalhães quite easily take care of the ball. If Adolfo Neves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gabriel Vale kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Simão Resende received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Bruno Leite tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Simão Resende in the 77thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Bruno Leite, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ricardo Carvalho in the 80th minute of play forced SC Santana's goalkeeper Afonso Magalhães to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, SC Montinhos's Bruno Leite got control of the ball when Simão Resende tried to sneak it across the goal line. Adolfo Neves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Afonso Magalhães having to interfere. 85 minutes into the game, Oliveira Simões was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Montinhos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Santana the free kick. Oliveira Simões hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. If Cristóvão Machado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 89 minutes into the match, SC Montinhos's goalkeeper Bruno Leite had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Simão Resende. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ricardo Carvalho in the 91st minute of play forced SC Santana's goalkeeper Afonso Magalhães to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jorge Queirós scored 1-0 in the 96th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Afonso Magalhães, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. SC Montinhos had won after a very even match.
