Cláudio Branco started the match with the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in SC Vilela's zone, Jacinto Costa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fábio Ferro came out of the goal and Jacinto Costa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Luís Ferreira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Sesmo FC booed when SC Vilela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rodrigo Azevedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to SC Vilela getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Rodrigo Azevedo hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Ferreira in the 17th minute of play forced SC Vilela's goalkeeper Fábio Ferro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joel Vale made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Rogério Ferro sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Sesmo FC booed when SC Vilela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexandre Araújo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 29thth minute of the game Luís Ferreira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Vilela's Fábio Ferro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Cláudio Branco's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joel Vale was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. If Luís Ferreira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 43 played minutes Sesmo FC got a freekick which was hit by Jacinto Costa. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Sesmo FC's Jacinto Costa got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sesmo FC's Joel Vale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cláudio Branco in the 56th minute of play. In the 72nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Sesmo FC's goalkeeper Joel Vale, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Joel Vale made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cláudio Branco in the 75th minute of play. A collision led to Sesmo FC getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Alexandre Ramos hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Sesmo FC's zone, Cláudio Branco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joel Vale came out of the goal and Cláudio Branco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cláudio Branco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joel Vale having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Sesmo FC's Amílcar Paredes got a free kick in the 85th minute. 86 minutes into the match, SC Vilela's Rafael Alves broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 88th match minute, Sesmo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jorge Mendes to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Rogério Ferro managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Vilela's supporters rose to their feet, but Rogério Ferro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joel Vale breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 92 minutes into the match, Sesmo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cláudio Branco came free, but Joel Vale reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
