The António Setúbal was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 7th minute Álvaro Porto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but António Setúbal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Álvaro Porto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Navio's Gonçalo Miranda, in the 10th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Navio. Carlos Magalhães kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Álvaro Porto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, Meixedos FC's António Setúbal got control of the ball when Gonçalo Miranda tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Meixedos FC's Paulo Vaz got a free kick in the 21st minute. The supporters of Navio booed when Meixedos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Luz didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 26th minute, Joel Queirós left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Meixedos FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Navio's Vasco Magalhães played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cândido Leão in the 29th minute of play. Meixedos FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Álvaro Porto 31 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-1. 40 minutes into the match, Navio's goal looked a bit too open when Cândido Leão came free, but Vasco Magalhães reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Álvaro Porto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Lúcio Pires charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lúcio Pires the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Lúcio Pires hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. António Setúbal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Álvaro Porto, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. In the 62nd minute, Joel Queirós ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vasco Magalhães was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Joel Queirós sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Navio's Lourenço Lisboa got a free kick in the 68th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Meixedos FC's Cândido Leão slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Vasco Magalhães. That made the score 1-3 after 69 minutes of play. Lourenço Lisboa's late challenge caught a Meixedos FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lourenço Lisboa helped the player get up and apologised. In the 77th minute, Lourenço Lisboa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 80 minutes into the match, Meixedos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Álvaro Porto came free, but António Setúbal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Navio manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Meixedos FC to win.
