In the 5th match minute, Barras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Ferreira to maneuver through the defense. After 8 played minutes Navio got a freekick which was hit by Basílio Moutinho. Barras's Abel Amaro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Álvaro Porto in the 10th minute of play. Álvaro Porto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Abel Amaro having to make a save. 16 minutes into the game, Álvaro Porto cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Abel Amaro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The crowd rose to their feet as Vicente Carneiro kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Vasco Magalhães. That made the score 1-1 in the 19 minute of play. Jorge Resende's late challenge caught a Barras's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jorge Resende helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 25th minute of the game. One of Navio:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Barras:s goal. If Álvaro Porto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by José Leão during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 41st minute there was a penalty for Navio. Jorge Resende stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Abel Amaro. 2-2. Barras's Carlos Ferreira got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vicente Carneiro to strike the kick off in the second half. 57 minutes into the match, Barras's goal looked a bit too open when Álvaro Porto came free, but Abel Amaro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gonçalo Miranda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Vasco Magalhães showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from João Dantas in the 60th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vicente Carneiro in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vasco Magalhães saved Navio from getting behind. Barras's Abel Amaro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save Barras from getting a goal against them. Gonçalo Miranda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. João Dantas struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Vasco Magalhães didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Barras. A collision led to Barras getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Lucas Antunes hit a great ball. In the 81st minute, Álvaro Porto ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Abel Amaro was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. Navio's Vasco Magalhães played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vicente Carneiro in the 86th minute of play. Abel Amaro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gonçalo Miranda in the 88th minute. Abel Amaro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Álvaro Porto in the 90th minute of play. A collision led to Navio getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Álvaro Porto hit a great ball.
