After 3 played minutes Manuel Leal rounded Machio FC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. Fernando Maia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manuel Leal in the 7th minute of the match. Fernando Freitas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernando Maia having to interfere. 13 minutes into the match, Fernando Freitas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fernando Maia. Machio FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fernando Freitas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Fernando Maia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manuel Leal, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. If Manuel Leal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 20 minutes into the game, Delfim Vieira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Machio FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Avenida the free kick. The supporters of Avenida booed when Machio FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Delfim Vieira didn't get a good kick on the ball. José Macedo struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Cristiano Veiga didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Machio FC. If Fábio Santarém had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, José Macedo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Machio FC's supporters rose to their feet, but José Macedo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cristiano Veiga breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Fábio Santarém came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Machio FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fábio Santarém couldn't finish the play. A hard shot 32 in the game by Fernando Freitas from a close distance when the talented Fernando Maia managed to make a qualified save. Machio FC's players were relieved. In the 33rd minute, José Macedo made a precise shot to the right of Cristiano Veiga. Avenida's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. In the 64th minute José Macedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristiano Veiga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fábio Santarém got free with Cristiano Veiga in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Machio FC booed when Avenida was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tiago Fernandes didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Fábio Santarém came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Machio FC fans jumped to their feet. Bernardo Faria took the ball and in the 75 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cristiano Veiga. Cristiano Veiga dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Manuel Leal scored 3-2 in the 80th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fernando Maia, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match had gone on for 85 minutes, Fernando Freitas put it in 4-2 from a short distance just to the right of Fernando Maia. Vicente Amorim hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. In the 95th minute the ball was on its way in behind Avenida's goalkeeper Cristiano Veiga, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Avenida had won after a very even match.
