Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Donai's Nuno Azevedo started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 3 minutes, Afonso Fontes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Donai and the SC Benagil players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 4 played minutes Donai got a freekick which was hit by Afonso Fontes. Adelino Baptista struck a weak shot in the 5th minute. Abel Santarém didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Benagil. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adelino Baptista in the 6th minute of play forced Donai's goalkeeper Abel Santarém to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 7 played minutes Donai got a freekick which was hit by Vítor Sá. Adelino Baptista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of SC Benagil booed when Donai was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Afonso Fontes didn't get a good kick on the ball. 16 minutes into the game, Jacinto Castro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Donai's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Benagil the free kick. After 16 played minutes Donai got a freekick which was hit by Jacinto Castro. Vítor Sá's late challenge caught a SC Benagil's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vítor Sá helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of SC Benagil booed when Donai was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vítor Sá didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 20th minute, Rogério Sousa sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Donai's Abel Santarém didn't even have to move. Alfredo Santarém fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lúcio Nascimento having to interfere. Lúcio Nascimento didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alfredo Santarém went, in the 24th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Alfredo Santarém fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lúcio Nascimento having to interfere. Nuno Azevedo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lúcio Nascimento read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. In the 31st minute Adelino Baptista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abel Santarém saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jaime Leiria sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 41st minute, Alfredo Santarém made a precise shot to the right of Lúcio Nascimento. SC Benagil's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. SC Benagil's Lúcio Nascimento proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 48th minute of the match, managed to save SC Benagil from getting a goal against them.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Adelino Baptista was the one to do the kick off. Lúcio Nascimento took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfredo Santarém, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 54 minutes into the match, SC Benagil's goal looked a bit too open when Alfredo Santarém came free, but Lúcio Nascimento reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Abel Santarém was a little too slow when Adelino Baptista got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 56th minute. The score was now 2-1. When Adelino Baptista came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the SC Benagil fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adelino Baptista couldn't finish the play. Jaime Leiria sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Donai's Abel Santarém played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adelino Baptista in the 68th minute of play. 75 minutes into the match, SC Benagil's Adelino Baptista sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Abel Santarém narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in SC Benagil's zone, Alfredo Santarém stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lúcio Nascimento came out of the goal and Alfredo Santarém tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nuno Azevedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lúcio Nascimento having to interfere. 85 minutes in the game Rogério Sousa got a great opportunity which he missed by shooting outside the goal. In the 93rd minute, Nuno Azevedo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Donai fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. Donai were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of SC Benagil for a fine match.
