The referee showed Sérgio Reis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of SC Gaifar booed when SC Meadela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sérgio Reis didn't get a good kick on the ball. António Barros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Viriato Pires tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. António Barros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Viriato Pires having to interfere. If Adolfo Cunha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

A collision led to SC Gaifar getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Ricardo Brás hit a great ball. António Barros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Viriato Pires having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adolfo Cunha in the 76th minute of play forced SC Meadela's goalkeeper Álvaro Gueifão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 77 minutes into the game, Francisco Macedo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Meadela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Gaifar the free kick. In the 77th match minute, SC Meadela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Francisco Macedo to maneuver through the defense. Sérgio Coimbra kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. After 83 played minutes SC Meadela got a freekick which was hit by Francisco Macedo. When the match had gone on for 84 minutes, Oliveira Viegas put it in 3-1 from a short distance just to the right of Álvaro Gueifão. SC Gaifar's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
